Overlap
Fish-scale slates are laid bonded. The head lap varies depending on the size of the slate and its straight side which will be in complete coverage. The special fish-scale slates have a minimal double head lap of 2 cm.
Rake and ridge
Slates on a straight rake can be laid bonded. The ridge can be tiled with ridge slates of different sizes.
Standard and rhombus slates (French) Spitzwinkel
In case of roofing with standards slates (French) the slates are laid bonded. The techniques of the slating is the same as the 40x40 standard slate roofing that is well-known in Hungary.
Underlayment
Full-surface sheeting, nailing building panels, nailing masonry.

Overlap
The minimal size of the head lap depends on the size of the trimmed corner and the overhanging top. It has to overhang 0.5 cm in case of a 40o or higher pitch and 1 cm in case of a pitch lower than 40o. It does not have to overhang on walls.
Wall tiling
Special alveolar tiling (Wabe-deckung)
Rectangular slates for wall tiling with a trimmed vertex.
Underlayment
Full-surface sheeting, nailing building panels, nailing masonry.
The shape of the slates
Dimensions:
Alveolar slates are available only in a size of 20/20 cm.
They are exclusively used on walls.
Rake tiling
In case of right or left-positioned tiling, as bonded or overlaid edge. In the case of the actual alveolar tiling as an overlaid edge where the overlaid edging slate hangs at least 4 cm over the the coverage or a straight rake as a bonded edge.
Spacing
1.
In case of right or left-positioned tiling, taking the 4 cm wide head and side laps into account.
2.
On alveolar slating:
-
horizontal spacing: 8,48 cm
-
vertical spacing: 28,28 cm
There are 30/20 and 40/20 cm rectangular (Rechtek) slates for the edges
